Visited in summer, was peaceful with pretty renovations inside. Service is thoughtful; politely attentive & respectful and lean towards giving space unless requested otherwise. Likely will not need to do so - directions, amenities, and check-in are easy to follow. Bathroom was pristine, supportive beds, subtle theme throughout, working AC / TV. It’s a quick walk to a library, the river, and downtown. Town’s shops are nice, a few of the hotel’s details seem to have been selected in support of the local businesses as well. Would choose to return again.

We loved our recent stay at the Captain’s Mansion! It was warm, cozy, and comfortable. The rooms were beautiful and very clean, and the staff was very attentive. The house had obviously been lovingly restored back to its original grandeur, but still keeping the original beautiful features. The widow’s walk was an amazing place to sit with a beautiful view. We will absolutely be going back!

The Captains Mansion in Mystic is a dream. A magnificent restoration on a ship captains historic home is worth a visit in and of itself. The art, furnishings and rooms are all top-notch and decorated in a colorful, classic style; it’s maybe a 5-7 minute walk to the Mystic bridge and downtown. The staff is accommodating and knowledgeable, and because it’s not right downtown and on a side-street it’s very private and quiet. It’s actually a fair cost for what you’re getting though it does get more expensive during the popular seasons - but so does everything else. They had an amazing dining promotion for one of the restaurants that we took advantage of as well. The Steamboat Inn is a sister property and also very nice, but this is almost an entire level above, especially for experienced travelers. A staircase leads to the upper floors so make sure you can navigate that, etc.

If you want to stay just above the hustle of Mystic, then The Captain's Mansion is where you should be. My wife and I walked back & forth into town for the weekend. We are physically able to do so. The Mansion was quiet and only has eight suites. The architecture was exquisite and the owners kept the historical value of the building intact! Everyone was very helpful and polite. We could not have made a better choice for our stay in Mystic,CT.

Our gallery owner stayed here for a last minute trip, and returned with only positive things to say. Nancy was excellent to work with, and made the space welcome and accommodating. The process from initial booking to checkout was incredibly smooth as well. We could not be more pleased with the Captain's Mansion's flexibility, kindness, and amenities, and will be using it for all future stays in the area for all of our staff!

What a fantastic property and staff. Located up hill from the boardwalk and Main Street is a five minute walk. The continental breakfast was great. My wife loved the pay as you go wine bar. Water, soda and snacks are complementary. We will be back again and again.

This beautifully restored mansion is magnificent. It is filled with architectural detail and tastefully decorated with period furniture and sailing artwork. Our room was comfortable and quiet, though you should be prepared to climb one or two long flights of stairs as was the style in that era. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend. We'll be back!
